About Laura Rancie
Hello!
MY NAME IS LAURA
Im a designer and illustrator and I love drawing.
And painting. And Chickens, sourdough and netflix. I love travelling all across the world with my family and my next trip is to Africa on a wild Gorilla trek in Uganda later this year!
Originally from the south of France but moving to Australia as a little girl, creativity, whimsical architecture and beautiful things have always captivated me.
In addition to buying my original art or commissioning a custom house drawing, you can also join my monthly mail subscription club - Letters from Laura, COMING SOON - where each month you get an original mini art print drawn by me, an illustrated recipe that I actually make at home and a letter from me to you... about sourdough, chickens, art and life! Plus a little something extra.
I've worked in many different backgrounds from marketing, events, marine wildlife, interior design, PR and food writing with articles regularly published in the Australian Good Food Guide and Vogue Living.
In 2010 I had created Australia's first French festival, Paris to Provence and successfully directed that for 10 years prior to selling it with Mercedes Benz Toorak as the naming partner. It is with huge satisfaction to learn that the event will again be running in 2027 with a brand new director at its helm and a fresh new direction.
But at the heart of it all, I am a curious creative - with art and creativity literally running through my blood. My mother was an artist and my father a Chef. The perfect combination of French artistry.
These days, you can find me in my private studio on Gold Coast's hinterland - drawing and painting whimsical houses, cafe's and airbnb's for clients (Illustrated by Laura) as well as running the Curious Creative Studio workshops and classes. I have a diploma of Design from Billy Blue College of Design, (one of Australia's premier colleges of Design).
While studying there as a mature age student, I was awarded out of all Australian applicants the prestigious VOGUE AUSTRALIA Internship and had my own 'Andy Sachs' moment interning at Vogue.
Writing a series of online articles at Vogue Living during that time and in the summer edition of the Vogue Living magazine was a dream.
I am now available for custom work / illustrations as well as social group Art classes in my hinterland studio on the Gold Coast.
I'd love to draw for you.
xx
